24th of March, 1957
Edward Reekers is a Dutch singer, dialogue director (in Dutch dubbing), and voice actor. He was born in Hengelo, Twente in the province of Overijssel.

His father was Martin Reekers, he became the mayor of Berkel en Rodenrijs, Zuid-Holland from 1970 - 1989.

Edwards love for music started young. In his youth he started playing the mouth organ, guitar, and piano. However singing he loved the most. When his father became the mayor of Berkel en Rodenrijs the whole family needed to move, and so Reekers started secondary school (HAVO) at the Laurenscollege in Rotterdan. Edward went on to become a member of his schoolband Suzy Creamcheese, where he sung, played guitar, keyboard, and drums. Later he got into progressive rock, due to Pink Floyd, and Yes. He kept loving Paul McCarney, and Peter Gabriel nonetheless.

Reekers was also a fan of the Dutch progressive rockband Kayak. In 1978 (Reekers was then about 20 - 21 years old) Kayak was looking for a new singer. The old singer Max Werner wanted to play the drums. He reacted on a advertisement in a magazine, that unfortunately went nowhere. Good for him he got a callback, due to his friend saying he needed to sent a demo to Ton Scherpenzeel (pianist of Kayak). Scherpenzeel called him, they practised, and he got hired. He immediately went on tour with them in Germany. Reekers sung Kayak's biggest hit called Ruthless Queen. From the album Phantom of the Night. Edward stayed their singer from 1978 until they band broke up in 1982.

Reekers voiced and directed many things in Dutch dubbing. Outside of Disney you could know him as the director of the Dutch dubbing of Harry Potter, all eight of them. He also voiced Nearly Headless Nick in the Harry Potter Films. He is the father of Trevor Reekers, also a Dutch voiceactor, and the voice of Harry Potter in Dutch.

Reekers made four soloalbums, where he worked together with his old bandmates from Kayak such as Max Werner, Johan Slager, and Cindy Oudshoorn
