Henny Orri

Henny Orri was a Dutch actrice, born and died in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland.

Hennry Orri was the youngest daughter of Henri Joseph Orri (1889 - 1969) and Neeltje Uijttenboogaard (1893 - 1991). Her older
sister Threes Orri (1915 - 1993) was a music educator. She was married from 1948 - 1954 with Ton Lensink (1922 - 1997). She was married with her second husband Theo Kling from 1956 until his death in 2018.

Orri gratuated in 1947 at the Amsterdam Stageschool. She was mostly seen in the theatre. She played the leading roles in: De Meiden (1962), Elektra (1965), Saint Joan (1966), Moeder Courage en haar kinderen (1973). In 1986 she got the esteemed Theo d'Or prize, a theatre award for her role in Wings.

You also could have spotted Henny in a couple of films such as Dokter Pulder zaait papavers (1975).

In 1994 the Grande Dame Du Theatre said her goodbyes officially via a play that was written by her second husband Theo Kling, called In de Hemel mag alles. Even though she said her goodbyes officially six years later she played in the solo show Rose. In 2009, she was 84-years-old, she played together with her daughter Diane Lensink in the play Berm.

That same daughter, Diane Lensink tragically died four years late due to cancer, her daughter was 62-years-old. Her grandson, Diane's son, Matteo van der Grijn, is also a famous actor.
​
On 22nd November 2015 she got the Blijvend Applaus Award. A prize for old (stage)actors.
​
Orri died on the 4th of January 2022, she was 96-years-old.
