Joke de Kruijf

Johanna Maria (Joke) de Kruijf is a Dutch musical actress, (voice) actress, and soprano singer, who was born in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland.

After high school Joke went on to do the pre-education program of the conservatory, and later auditioned for the Academie voor kleinkunst (Cabaret) & Balletacademie Nel Roos, where she was accepted.

De Kruijf would become one of the most famous musicalstars in the Netherlands in the early 1990's. When she performed as Cosette in the Dutch production of Les Miserables, as well as Christine Daaé in the Dutch production of Phantom of the Opera. Joke would also play this role in Germany, and Austria. You could also see her in Little Shop of Horrors, Chess, and Chicago. Her latest role was the role of Angie Dickinson in the musical The Prom.
