Tilly Perin-Bouwmeester
8th of March, 1893 - 17th December, 1984
Margaretha Louise Johanna de Boer was a Dutch actrice, born in Amstelveen Noord-Holland. She was a daughter of Louis Bouwmeester senior, who was also an actor, and Grietje de Boer. Because Tilly's parents weren't married, she got her mother's last name, however she always worked under the name Bouwmeester. After her marriage to Pierre Perin in 1928, Tilly always used the name Perin-Bouwmeester.

Perin-Bouwmeester started as a teacher, until she transfered in 1916 to the theatre. Even though she was a child out of the Bouwmeester family, she performed rarely on stage. Tilly was working in cabaret companies, toured around Japan/China, and even runned a cinema in the Dutch East Indies with her husband.

After the Second War World the building called Salvatori in Amsterdam was rebuilt by Perin-Bouwmeester, and her husband Pierre as a theatre. They renamed it as De Kleine Komedie, nowadays it's still there, and it is seen as the cabaret temple of Amsterdam, and the Netherlands.

After Tilly's husband passed away she wasn't seen in the theatre anymore, but still did perform in tv-series, and films. Such as De kleine waarheid, Boerin in Frankrijk, Kort Amerikaans en Teken van het Beest. Her most known television role is the role of Aunt Dora in Dagboek van een Herdershond.

Perin-Bouwmeester died in Amsterdam, when she was 91-years old, and was buried in the same grave as her husband.
