Luc Lutz

17th of November, 1924 - 14th of November, 2001

Luc Lutz was born in Delft, and was a Dutch actor, and director. The first time Lutz got to known anything that had to do with theatre was playing the reactments of church masses. He would do this together with his brothers Ton Lutz, and Pieter Lutz, who also both would become actors. Just like his brother Ton, he applied for the Amsterdam Theatreschool after the liberation of the Netherlands in 1945 due to the Second World War.

In 1948 he got his degree, and went on to play in the cabaret show of Wim Sonneveld. Lutz his theatre career started back in 1954, but he always went back to cabaret. 

​

Luc was a versatile actor, that played in tragedies, comedy, and musicals. He played for groups in The Hague, and Rotterdam. In 1962 he went on to play for Theatregroup Centrum in Amsterdam, but he was missing Rotterdam, and went back to the New Rotterdam Theatre, in 1963.

Lutz played big roles in Shakespeare, but in the 1970's he was going for theatre as well as television. Outside of theatre Lutz wrote dialogues for radio programmes, he translated musicals, and you got see him in various tv-shows, and films. Luc played the leading role in Herenstraat 10 and together with his son Joris you could see him in the comedy tv-show Ha, die Pa!

Lutz was married to actresses Simone Rooskens (who also did dubbing work), and Bela Brandon.

​

Luc died a few days before his 77th birthday due to cancer.
